The theme for the fourth session of the UN Environment Assembly is “Innovative solutions for environmental challenges and sustainable consumption and production”. Only through innovation can our generation move closer to the vision of the world set out in “The future we want” outcome document of the 2012 UN Conference on Sustainable Development.
Finding innovative and #SolveDifferent solutions to use resources more efficiently and sustainably should be our prerogative. It is on all of us to Think Beyond and Live Within. We would love to hear the kind of creative actions you are taking to lessen your ecological footprint. Here are three starting commitments that you can take in your daily life that will benefit the environment.

Roughly a third of the planet's arable land is used for livestock feed. To halt deforestation, water shortages and pollution from feed cultivation— I commit to eating less meat and getting my protein from beans and pulses.
An average shower uses about 5 gallons of water per minute. To lessen water wastage, I commit to shortening my shower by 2 minutes to cut my water use by 10 gallons.
Globally, 7 out of 8 urban citizens breathes air that fails to meet WHO’s standards. To diminish my carbon footprint, I commit to cycling 10 km each way to work to save 1500 kg of greenhouse gas emissions each year.
