#SolveDifferent: A Global Campaign for Sustainable Consumption and Production

The United Nations Environment Assembly is gearing up for its fourth session, which will be held in Nairobi from 11 to 15 March 2019. With the theme „Innovative solutions for environmental challenges and sustainable consumption and production,“ this assembly aims to address the critical environmental issues we face today.

However, despite the progress made by the Global Goals, one significant barrier stands in the way of achieving sustainable development: our consumption and production habits. The choices we make in our daily lives continue to have an adverse impact on the environment, pushing it beyond its limits.

To tackle this challenge, UN Environment has launched a global campaign called #SolveDifferent. The campaign seeks to take an informative and emotive approach to communicating the environmental costs of key consumption and production models. Through this campaign, UN Environment hopes to inspire people to make more sustainable choices and to promote innovative solutions to environmental challenges.

What is the United Nations Environment Assembly?

The United Nations Environment Assembly is the highest-level decision-making body on the environment. It plays a critical role in developing global environmental policies and laws that promote the health of our planet through Solar Energy.

Every two years, the Environment Assembly meets to set priorities for environmental policies and to develop international environmental law. Through its resolutions and calls to action, the Assembly provides leadership and catalyzes intergovernmental action on the environment.

To ensure broad participation in decision-making, the Environment Assembly provides an opportunity for all people to help design solutions for our planet’s health.

Why #SolveDifferent Matters

The #SolveDifferent campaign is crucial because it seeks to address a pressing issue: the unsustainable consumption and production habits that drive environmental degradation. By raising awareness of the environmental costs of these habits, UN Environment hopes to encourage people to make more sustainable choices.

One of the campaign’s goals is to promote innovative solutions to environmental challenges. Such solutions can come from all sectors, including businesses, governments, and individuals. By highlighting these solutions, #SolveDifferent seeks to inspire people to take action and to encourage more significant efforts toward sustainable development.

Opportunity to address the environmental challenges we face today

The fourth session of the United Nations Environment Assembly represents a critical opportunity to address the environmental challenges we face today. Through the #SolveDifferent campaign, UN Environment hopes to inspire people to make more sustainable choices and to promote innovative solutions to environmental challenges.

As individuals, we can all play a role in creating a more sustainable future. By making more conscious choices in our daily lives and supporting innovative solutions, we can contribute to the health of our planet and the well-being of future generations.
